Excellent article. It's so frustrating that the misinformation and rhetoric has destroyed any ability to make some nuanced discussions. So, things which are not happening are told to the general public, and people are concerned based on a lie.
For example, some sports authoritative bodies should, and do, restrict transgender women based on testosterone levels, when they transitioned, etc. Boxing should not allow a transgender woman to compete if she began transitioning in the past year, and has higher testosterone and muscle mass than a cis woman. The problem is, that's already the case. Yet, we still have the hysteria such as the Olympics where a cisgender woman is accused of being transgender.
I like to use an asteroid analogy. If the public was told that a large asteroid was heading towards Earth, people would be right to panic. However, there isn't. It's all a lie designed to scare and distract people. Likewise, we should trust the experts to guide us on this topic.
